My name is Amanda Leitner, and I am the school counselor at St. Felicitas. I graduated from Pitzer College in Claremont, CA with a Bachelors in psychology. In 2011 I completed my Masters in counseling psychology with an emphasis in somatic (body-oriented) techniques from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#90324).
I have also been a massage therapist for over twelve years.
My experience working with children and adolescents includes: volunteering at a children's home; interning in a middle school counseling office; interning at a youth residential treatment center; developing an after-school program at a soup kitchen; one-on-one counseling with adolescents; and last but not least, the many years surrounded by children of all ages in my big, tight-knit family. Originally from Wichita, Kansas, I now happily call the Bay Area home. In my spare time I enjoy singing, dancing, the outdoors, and reading fantasy novels. I strongly believe in the whole child approach: that our children can thrive and succeed most when all parts
of themselves--mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual--are nurtured and guided. This is my fourth year as St. Felicitas' school counselor and I am delighted to be part of this community.
